Today's track and profile
Morning sun hits the peaks to the west of us
Sunrise. We're up early today since we want to hit the trail and get back to the car. As much as I'd like to stay in the mountains, It's a long drive home.

Rocky trail through Humpreys Basin
Glacier Divide peaks: Muriel Peak, Mt Goethe
Small lakes in Humphreys Basin reflect the clear blue sky

And on the Glacier Divide
Looking down Bishop Creek North Fork towards the the trailhead.
Below Piute Pass - it's still green and lush, doesn't feel very 'fall-like' yet.
A bit of snow up here still too. Notice the 'Sierra Stairmaster' trail going up the middle.
Unnamed lakes/ponds below the pass
Looking back on the Pass
Piute Lake. I'd like to come back here for an overnight backpack sometime and fish.
Beautiful meadows and lakes along this trail

We started running into a lot of backpackers coming in. it's amazing how you notice the smell of clean on everyone as they pass by (soap) after not smelling it for six days. :)

We're back to the red pinnacles of the Piute Crags - the ones we had a view of on our first day as we climbed to Lamarck Lake.
