We left the bay area on Friday afternoon, hopefully it doesn't burn down by the time we get back...
Stopped for dinner at Fifty Fifty in Truckee, great brewery with excellent food.
Passing through reno without stopping is always a good thing.
Stopped off at a small motel in Winnemucca that still goes with old school keys. It was clean and comfortable and quiet, that's all we needed.
The next day we continued east along 80 before turning north to Idaho. I enjoyed picking routes up the various mountains along the way.
Some fall color was popping in the canyons.
Some more fall color where we turned north to Idaho.
We stopped for lunch and a quick visit to Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls. I've never been here before but I know waterfalls enough to know these are really dry!
Shoshone Falls along the Snake River
We're in the land of different available beers, so I picked up something from one of my favorite unavailable-in-CA breweries, Epic out of Salt Lake City.
This pooch greeted us at the bottle shop.
Finally, after a long day on the road we got a peek at the tetons. Yay!
