A Robert Louis Stevenson memorial plaque
Some chiseled steps on the trail
At approximately the 1 mile mark we intersect with a wide dirt road that we will follow another four miles to the summit.
Heading down the 'trail'
Eventually we start to get some views into Calistoga and vineyards.
It's different from the south bay.
On the road, some interesting rock along the way.
At a switchback.
A rock with some bolts. Encountered climbers on the way down.
Wider shot of the rock.
There are some interesting bumps in these hills - should come back and hike them sometime.
More views and interesting rocks.
After rounding a few curves the false (east) summit is in view.
Way out there, barely visible in this shot due to the haze, is Mt Lassen
Wide shot with lassen in the middle.
On the summit.
That weird plaque seems happy that we made it.
HURRY EVERYONE TWEET THAT WE ARE HERE
Heading back down.
Several long switchbacks on this hike.
