Today we'll head up to lookout city and defense mine.

Starting up towards lookout City. We decided to seek out the old "china wall" trail, a series of switchbacks to the lower mines built by chinese laborers during the mining era.

Ascending the trail - we can see some of the switchbacks below.
This trail was in better condition than most sierra trails I've been on and it's at least 100 years old and not been maintained.
Once we popped out on the ridge we could see the old road. Again, incredible engineering of the rock walls.
