Gear shoutout: I wore Patagonia approach shoes/scramblers for 90% of the trip and they were great (especially for the rock hopping/peaks). But they have no padding and my feet were pretty sore from the previous day's 18 miles. Enter my camp shoes, the Columbia Power Drains. These are lightweight water and trail shoes that felt super, super great at the end of the week. I should have been hiking in them the whole time.

Gear Boohoo: the pants I am wearing in this shot got tossed in the trash at the trailhead. They are my alltime favorite hiking pants (by the north face, not sure of the model) and after ~5 years of constant use, they finally met their demise in the form of a big tear on the butt when coming down Mt Tyndall. Good thing I still have another pair!
