Trail to Gertrude
The trail to gertrude lake starts off heading in the general direction of rockbound pass. Once the trail starts to climb, views of the Crystral Range come into sigh
Typical Desolation sight - glacial polished granite with boulders deposited all willy-nilly.
View toward Mt Price - there was a dusting of snow on the peaks. Two days before our visit 2 inches of snow had fallen at the trailhead - winter is coming!
Typical Tahoe-area sierra sights.
There were a few fall colors, but not many in this primarily pine forest.
Here comes winter!
Remants of the week's earlier storm.

The next morning was chilly and we got on the trail to start moving and warm up. My frozen fingers had time for this last shot, near the turnoff for the Enchanted Pools.
