Camp Ohlone Road
Little Yosemite Valley
The W Tree
Turkey vultures keeping an eye on me. A rather ominous start to the hike.
Lots of cows and cattle throughout Sunol and Ohlone.
Climbing to the first Backpacker Camp
It's the steepest part of the hike, but you end up on the ridge where the climb becomes more gradual.
Many gates along the Ohlone Trail
Nice stretch of trail..
The trees around here are really fun shaped
Some nice rocks/bluffs along the trail too.
Cattle ponds too
Actually some running water
Deep little running stream
Rose Peak. Highest legally accessible point in Alameda County. There is another peak a few feet higher but it is on private land.
Final stretch to Rose Peak
Baby Blue Eyes - saw a couple of these right on the summit.
Yup. Made it.
Me. I've wanted to do this hike for a long time, glad to finally have it under my belt.
Rose Peak Summit
View to the east
View towards San Jose/Silicon Valley/SF Bay
Heading back down. An hour ahead of schedule.
Small climb on the return hike but it was mostly downhill.
Typical Ohlone trail post.
Cattle pond and neat trees
