Looking for a geocache at an out-of-the-way rock garden.
50sumtin is the champ
A very cool tree I climbed over on my way to the rock garden.
Scrambling back up the stream after finding the cache.
We start to climb out of the canyon and can see some fog.
The wildflowers were great.
The group ahead, still climbing.
I had to stop for a while because the right zipper on my zip-off pants jammed.
Now we start to get a good view of the Pacific.
The group has found a nice rest stop.
What are you starting at, furball?
Gee, this would be a nice place for a cache.
Once we gained the ridge the trail leveled out a for a while.
On Doud (cloud?) peak.
There isn't a workerofwood cache here, but there should be
That's where we're heading.
The peak is in the trees to the right. The trail kind of goes along the ridge.
Wildflowers and the green green grass.
Lunch stop, just below the peak.
We found it!
The group around the Ariel cache
View towards Monterey
BritishInvasion pulls ahead while 50sumtin stops to hide another cache
That's the trail we came up from the canyon. Looks steeper from here.

The trail heading down the ridge
The views on this stretch were amazing!
Wildflowers and the trail.
Looking back up the canyon and the ridge we walked to Palo Corona.
We ran up a little hill for another cache right after the hike.
Views from that hill - worth it!
Everyone rewards themselves with beer and deep fried seafood at Phil's post-hike
Our round trip track to Palo Corona (view full size for details)
We started down by the beach, then went up the canyon to the summit, and followed the ridge line back down.
