Thursday morning in Boulder we grabbed some coffees and then were off to hike the first Flatiron.
It's a beautiful trail with a nice climb of 1500 ft in a short distance. Good quick workout.
I carried my coffee the whole way. Yum!
I enjoyed our hike here, the rocks are cool!
Next we headed into Denver for all of the GABF festivities. Stopped by Great Divide for a quick beer to kick things off.
Also found this sweet HydroFlask. Yay!
After checking in to our hotel, we shuttled down to the Convention center for the first session.
We did the Farm to Table tickets which were limited and the line was really short.
Farm to Table is a separate room with brewery/chef pairings. The Food was out of this world.
This was my favorite
Other than the oyster bar. So fantastic.
Dump bucket = ass ale. Pretty much.
I always like the Shorts booth.
David met his twin.
And we found some drunk squirrels.
On Friday we did the Pints for Prostates Rare beer tasting.
Here, Sam Calgione from Dogfish Head pours 120 minute IPA through a randall with cascade hops and black garlic. Better than it sounds.
After the rare beer tasting we headed over to the Crooked Stave WTF?! (What the Funk) Barrel beer event. This was so fantastic, more sours than I've ever seen.
Some dead soldiers from Hill Farmstead and Bell's.
Kind was giving out bars at GABF. I had several. Between them and the Snyder's pretzel sampler bags, it was easy to keep a good beer base in the tummy!
On Saturday afternoon we did the GABF member's session, then went to lucky pie for pizza. They had a great tap list, and here we are drinking Lagunitas beers we can't even get in California.
Then it was on to Falling Rock because you can't go to Denver without Falling Rock!
We watched the end of the Michigan game and then headed back to the hotel for a good night of sleep. In the morning we were leaving for Canyonlands and I wanted an early start!
