Tried to take a picture of every beer I had during the week - got most of them :)
Jogged through the farms every morning
Poppy - Very different than the ones I'm used to seeing in california
View from my room. Love the late sunset here - reminds me of the summers growing up in Michigan
Sunset in Reilingen
Office treats. This is how they roll in Walldorf.
Friday night we went to dinner across the Rhine over in Speyer. Loved these statues near the cathedral, especially the guy crouched behind the shield.
Patterns in the cathedral wall
Plaque/tomb at Cathedral
Speyer Cathedral (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Construction on this cathedral began in 1030 (emporer Conrad II)
Square in front of the Cathedral
Inside the Domhof Hausbrauerei. Excellent beer - dried hops lined the ceiling.
Saturday - at Rothenburg ob der Tauber. On Saturday we headed over to the Medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber - didn't take many pictures at the beginning of the day due to the rain...
We paid the 2 euro to climb up the old rathaus (city hall) tower to get a view and plan the day.
View of the streets of Rothenburg
Church, conveniently wrapped in scaffolding
A wet Rothenburg, as seen from the Rathaus tower
Rothenburg was the inspiration for the village in Pinocchio and many other movies/books.
A local pastry style. Mm.- cannonballs, I think they were called.
Wet street in Rothenburg ob der Tauber
Guy stuck in wall (old = cool)
New construction by local standards.
A wall encircles the entire city.
Tower along the wall
Entering the city. Expecting arrows to rain down on us at any moment.
Stuck in time.
Inside the city/castle walls.
Emerging onto the wall walkway. You can wall all the way around the city on this thing.
All of the buildings look like they are straight out of a disney movie.
My favorite building.
Shield on front
Walls and arches
Streets of Rothenburg
Wide angle of the town square/markt. Rathaus on left.
Rathaus tower. That is where we started at the beginning of the day.
