Yellow Mariposa Lily
It's getting late in the season but the flowers are still out at Cache Creek. I imagine this weekend's 100 degree temps will take out a lot of them.
Pale Western Larkspur
Hm, looks kind of like a checkerbloom but it isn't...maybe a clarkia?
Hanging around camp
I didn't take many photos on the way in due to the heat. We hiked along the Redbud trail through Baton Flat and on to Wilson Valley. After some navigational hijinx we all ended up at a nice campsite next to a perfect swimming hole.
It was about 100 degrees out this weekend - and stayed warm throughout the night.
My old tent. :)
Got to see my old baby when Theresa brought it on this trip.

Andy's dog, B.
Ron at the swimming hole
Even though the opposite shore isn't far away, it was deep enough that I couldn't touch bottom. Perfect after a hot day on the trail.
Sunset at the swimming hole.
The sun is now behind the ridge - oooh, a nice cool 90 degrees.
Yellow gully lupine
David near camp
B was having far too much fun chasing lizards in this dead tree.
While fishing for trout, Ron caught a carp (which was thrown back)
Hanging around camp in the morning.
It's already warm out...gonna be another 100 degree day.
See? We haven't even hit the trail yet and we're lounging around in the shade.
Heading our, crossing a smaller creekbed. Not much water here.
Exposed trail. Hot hot hot today.
