View of the Calico rocks from a distance.
In the Calico Rocks
we did a short (~mile round trip) walk down the canyon to find some caches and enjoy the views.
The amazing hat eating tree.

End of the Calico Rocks
Getting through the canyon was a bit rough, so we just hiked back up that hill and back to the car.
See the itty bitty trail below?

The red rocks really stand out here.
That's Las Vegas over there.
Next, we stopped by the petroglyphs/pictographs.
Petroglyphs are carved into the rock, pictographs are painted on the rock.

Looks like the Flintstones live around here.
We got back to the parking lot and I saw that the F350 truck parked next to our TBlazer was from my hometown of Traverse City, Michigan.
Driving back to Vegas, we came across a herd of wild burros on the side of the road.
