November 21-22, 2012: On our way out to Death Valley we stopped by Ash Meadows Wildlife Refuge to see the most amazing clear spring in the middle of the desert. On Thanksgiving morning we climbed Eagle Peak, one of my favorite desert peaks ever due to the scrambling up near the summit. Of course this was all followed by our amazing desert Thanskgiving feast!

After a morning of resupplying in Las Vegas it was time to head back out to the desert. On our way to camp in Death Valley we stopped by the Ash Meadows Wildlife refuge, an unusual oasis of water just outside of the national park.
